How To Apply

Applications are to be made on the Waikato Catchment Ecological Enhancement Trust Application Form.

Who can apply?

Smelt; Crown Copyright 2003, Department of Conservation Te Papa Atawhai, Photographer: Moore, StephenAnyone can apply to the fund. Grants will be made for charitable purposes only. Projects will not be funded if they have already been completed.

Applications for funding will require a statement from a referee.


What types of projects can be funded?

Projects must meet one or more of the purposes of the Waikato Catchment Ecological Enhancement Trust.
Projects may involve the following to achieve the above:

  • habitat restoration, enhancement and management
  • protection of species from pests, predators or other threats
  • developing a community culture that values the natural environment

Application deadline

Applications must be received by 31 January of each year. Applicants will be advised on the outcome of their application by 31 March. Applicants may be required to present their application, in person, to the Trust.
